Therapy in the language you dream in.
Saudade Therapy is a free, mission-led initiative building an independent directory of therapists who work in naš jezik — Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, Montenegrin — and understand life abroad. The directory is in development; we review credentials, show exactly what was checked, and take no commission.
The directory is in development.
We are reviewing the founding therapists now. Leave your email — and, if you like, your country and language — and we will write once, when there are reviewed therapists who match. Never for any other reason.
We are assembling the founding cohort.
Therapists who work in Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian or Montenegrin — wherever you practise. Listing is free, there is no commission, and your profile shows exactly what was reviewed and when.
Some things are easier to say in your own language.
Finding a therapist can be difficult. Finding one who understands your language, your family context and the experience of living abroad is harder still — around 1.7 million people born in Bosnia and Herzegovina live abroad, close to two million counting their children, and the picture is similar across the region.
For many people, therapy in a second language makes hard things feel simplified — easier to describe than to actually say. We learned the new language well enough to work in it, argue in it, raise children in it; grieving in it is another matter. And you do not need a dramatic reason: anxiety, burnout, relationships, parenting abroad, grief, identity, or just a heavy year all count.

We introduce you. Then we get out of the way.
Saudade is a directory and an introduction, not a clinic. The therapeutic relationship — and the money, the sessions and the notes — belongs to the two people in it.
Reviewed by a person. Shown, not implied.
What people will see.
No ranking games, no boosted placement, no pay-to-be-first. Results are ordered by fit and availability, and we show how the order was decided.
You control your fee, your hours and your caseload cap. When you are full, you are hidden — not left collecting enquiries you cannot answer.
No fees. No commission. No sponsored ranking.
Clients pay therapists directly, on whatever terms the two of them agree. We never see the transaction and take nothing from it. Listing is free, and search order is not for sale — if an optional practice toolkit ever exists, it will not change who appears, or in what order.
Saudade Therapy is an independent, mission-led initiative, currently establishing its long-term nonprofit structure. It is volunteer-built with small running costs, and we will publish how the project is funded. More: about this initiative.
Practical tools, in preparation.
Useful even if you never book anything — practical, not clinical. Nothing you enter will be stored on our servers.
Looking for a therapist rather than becoming one?

The things people actually ask.
Is it really free?
Yes. Saudade Therapy charges neither clients nor therapists and takes no commission on sessions. You agree the fee directly with your therapist and pay them directly, outside the platform.
Can a therapist in Sarajevo work with me in Germany?
It depends. Rules differ by country and by professional title: where a profession is regulated, recognition, registration or other approval may be required in the country where you are, and reimbursement almost always requires local accreditation. Each profile will show where a therapist is registered and where they have declared they work — confirming eligibility remains the therapist's responsibility.
Do you record or store sessions?
No — sessions do not run through Saudade at all. You meet your therapist directly, on the platform the therapist chooses; recordings, notes and clinical records stay with the therapist, where the law says they belong. For the opening notification list, we hold only your email and, if you share them, your country and preferred language.
Will my insurance reimburse it?
Sometimes. It depends on your country, your cover, and whether the therapist holds the accreditation your insurer requires — cross-border reimbursement usually needs local accreditation. Ask your insurer before committing; profiles will state what a therapist has declared about reimbursement where they work.
Is this only for Bosnians?
No. It is for anyone whose language is bosanski, hrvatski, srpski or crnogorski, wherever they now live and whatever they call themselves. The war is not a filter on this site.
